Accreditation Process

Proven Approach

For over 10 years Ross international has been working closely with ibp academy (and through them with ILM) to develop accredited Lean training programmes.

ibp academy

ibp academy is one of the largest centres for the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) in the UK and have a strong track record of developing new qualifications under their guidance.  Both directors of ibp academy are Fellows of ILM. Our collaboration with ibp over the years has seen the development of several innovative products which have enabled our clients to win National & Scottish Training Awards.

The Institute Of Leadership & Management (ILM)

ILM is the largest awarding body for leadership and management qualifications partnering with over 2000 ILM approved centres worldwide.

Edinburgh Napier University

In 2008, in response to customer demand, we worked with Edinburgh Napier University to create a professional development path up to MSc in Leading Rapid Improvement. Napier credit rated (60 credits) our RIE facilitator training materials. Trainees on our programme submit a portfolio of evidence of their 'on job' achievements to ibp academy/ILM. The resulting ILM Certificate in Leading Rapid Improvement awarded by ibp gives exemption from half the credits required for the Edinburgh Napier PdDip in Leading Rapid Improvement.

Proven Benefits Of The Accreditation Process

The major benefit from accreditation of learning is the results it produces. Candidates for qualifications are set assignments which are then assessed. Emphasis within the accreditation process is placed on what was done and the results achieved, with assessment across three sets of criteria, namely Knowledge, Application and Results. This provides a means to apply learning, develop results from it and gain positive, developmental feedback that enhances both.

  • Systematic and measurable process ensures participants apply their new skills and knowledge to specific issues and achieve results above prior expectations
  • Results are delivered during the learning process
  • Ongoing feedback and coaching following on from assessments reinforces learning, encourages application and maximises the potential for results
  • Participants are able to evaluate their own activities and results systematically and on an ongoing basis
  • Self-sufficiency is developed in implementation of Lean techniques, positioning participants to achieve practical results in other areas
  • The learning process and the standards attained are quality assured externally, by the Institute of Leadership and Management
