Management Development Workshops
Studying and applying the principles of Lean Thinking is a committed undertaking. Lean is certainly not something that can be mastered as the result of a day’s training. However we offer this introductory Lean workshop to give you a chance to look at your operation differently and see what might be possible from adopting a Lean approach. Womack and Jones call it ‘learning to see.’
All of our most recent clients, (Police force, Council, University and a Housing Association), chose to use these development sessions to give all managers an overall appreciation of Lean and help them understand the behaviours necessary to support and encourage its development.
One of our other local authority clients used this approach at the top level then repeated the sessions in each service area to ensure that all the managers and key influencers were exposed to a Lean overview in advance of Lean activity being conducted in their area.

Structure of the event
This is an interactive one-day experience during which the principles of Lean are shared and discussed. You will be encouraged to draw from your experience and knowledge so that the Lean tools, techniques and principles are put into context and made relevant to your organisation.
The day involves a simulation in which you will experience what can happen to a process when the Lean principles are applied correctly. Specifically, how it can:
You will be given an opportunity as a group to discuss whether or not the Lean approach could help in your situation. You would also surface any problems that might get in the way and explore how these barriers could be overcome.
This exposure and understanding will get you to the position where you and your team can decide whether the Lean approach will work for you.
