Our Approach

Over the years we have seen what works and what doesn’t and now have a very robust, well-documented improvement process that is guaranteed to deliver the outcomes you require.

Planning

Our process starts with engaging the senior management to identify an area to be targeted and to ensure that any improvement efforts are aligned with what is critical to the organisation as a whole.

Managers from the area being addressed are invited to establish goals that would make the investment worthwhile.  An improvement team, with all the necessary disciplines and levels represented, is selected and a Project Leader nominated.

Acceptance

No one likes to be told what to do.  We have found that if people are given a chance to see what is going on and influence it, they will be much more inclined to accept the outcomes.

One powerful factor to ensure acceptance of new processes is if they are seen to be clearly better for the customers, better for the staff and deliver significant benefits to the organisation.  We will facilitate your teams to deliver all these outcomes simultaneously.

Implementation

There will be an intense "Blitz" week where the team will understand the full range of challenges before developing solutions to overcome them.  By the end of the week the improvement team will have designed and implemented a new process that has been stripped of waste and blockages to flow.

They will have gained acceptance from management and staff for the new ways and will have generated an action plan which spells out all the things that still need to be done to bed the new process into place.

The week finishes with a report-out by all the team members describing the journey they have been through and the expected outcomes. For some this is the hardest part but we find that they are so pleased with what they have accomplished that they overcome any fears and play their part in the presentation.

Sustainability

You need to know that your improvements are going to survive the test of time.  Working with us you will see how sustainability is built into every step of our approach. Improvement teams are encouraged to take ownership of the new processes from an early stage to help ensure sustainable success.

Self-Sufficiency

If you decide you want to become self-sufficient in driving Lean improvements we have several mechanisms for transferring our skills and knowledge to all levels in your organisation.  We are happy to work with you to tailor our approach to suit your specific circumstances.
