Summary of Ross International interventions:
Aberdeenshire Council
Delivered management development training to create the conditions necessary to run a series of Kaizen Blitz events across all services. Trained a Kaizen Champion and several Facilitators to be self sufficient in delivering Kaizen interventions across the council. The council won a COSLA award and the European UDiTE award for their Kaizen successess.
Borders Council
Facilitated a combined group of councils and emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) to develop a co-ordinated disaster planning process using the Ross International 'Root Map Day' complex problem solving tool.
City of Edinburgh Council
Our Kaizen event in Development Control looked at the end to end Planning process with a view to making a step-change in performance. Their delivery is now good relative to their peer authorities and the team spirit of the Kaizen event has been maintained.
In Property Conservation the main goal of the Kaizen Blitz was to reduce the amount of outstanding money due to the council for repair work carried out. All the processes were examined and creative solutions arrived at to make it much easier for all parties involved to play their part in shrinking the overall lead time.
Perth & Kinross Council
Trained 3 Kaizen facilitators over a series of Kaizen Blitz events focused on improving customer satisfaction in a number of areas including planning applications and road repairs. The roads repair team won a gold award in the Sustainability category of the Securing the Future campaign.
The team of council staff Tayside contract staff undertook a review that has resulted in a more responsive, efficient and sustainable process that is fixing 4000 more defects per year with the same resources.
The Scottish Government
Proved that the Kaizen Blitz methodology would actually work in The Scottish Government. Demonstrated major, sustainable benefits which led Aberdeenshire Council and the NHS adopting Kaizen and having us train Kaizen Facilitators.
