Kaizen Facilitator Training

Kaizen/RIE Facilitator Training Programme

This programme will allow your organization to become self sufficient in continuous improvement by training key personnel to facilitate Kaizen Blitz/Rapid Improvement Events.

The time and effort required to train a Facilitator depends on where the candidate is starting from. In our experience it requires active participation in a minimum of 4 week long events to reach the level of knowledge, competence and confidence to go solo.

Selecting the right people

Before you make an investment in time and money, training your people, you need to be sure they are right for the job. We have a clear understanding of the characteristics candidates need to have.

We use personal profiling to determine which of your candidates has the highest potential for success. The results are compared with the established profile for the job. There is no such thing as a bad profile, but the closer their personal profile is to the job profile, the easier it will be for them to succeed.

Structure

The programme consists of classroom learning and structured coaching sessions during 4 ‘live’ events. In the run-up to your first Kaizen Blitz/RIE the trainee will shadow a Ross International facilitator to understand what it takes to create the right environment for a successful outcome. This initial event is an ideal opportunity for your trainee to see a Ross International facilitator in action throughout the entire process.

In the satisfaction following the end of the Blitz/RIE it is easy to forget that the real hard work is still to come. During this first event, your trainee facilitator will work closely with the Project Leader to understand the challenges of post event follow-through and how to work out a plan that will make improvements sustainable.

Handing over

Throughout the course of the next 3 Kaizen/RIE’s, Ross International will gradually hand over more of the facilitation to your trainee. They will be coached to a point where they have the necessary skills and confidence to take full control. Feedback is given at every step and by the end of the fourth event the he/she will usually be ready to go solo. This means your facilitator will be able to organise future events, handle all the facilitation and following through to a successful conclusion. Ross International will continue to provide additional support if necessary.

Accreditation

If desired the achievements of the facilitators can be recognised through our professional development route.
