Lean Introductory Course
Studying and applying the principles of Lean Thinking is a committed undertaking. It is certainly not something that can be mastered as the result of a days training. However we offer an introductory course which is designed to get participants to look at their businesses and processes in a different way. Womack and Jones call it ‘learning to see.’
Introduction to Lean Thinking and Kaizen
This is an interactive one-day experience during which the principles of Lean are shared and discussed. You will be encouraged to draw from your experience and knowledge so that the Lean tools, techniques and principles are put into context and made relevant to your business.
The day involves a simulation in which you will experience what can happen to a process when the Lean principles are applied correctly. Specifically how it can:
- dramatically increase productivity, quality of service and capacity
- significantly reduce waste and waiting times
- reduce costs and increase contribution
- positively impact on staff morale and motivation
Our intention is to remove any mystery surrounding the subject and to ensure you leave with the confidence to apply Lean in simple ways in your workplace.
Past participants have returned to their organisations and delivered small projects confined to their area of control. Others have kick-started Lean programmes that have led to Kaizen Blitz/Rapid Improvement Events that have delivered business wide transformation.
This is an open course. The ideal number of participants is 12 to 15. It is suitable for people at all levels from the same organization or multiple organisations.
